Biographical Sketch

The biography of any horsewoman is really the story of the horses, and an unending quest, a voracious appetite for conversation and study. A seeking of constant refinement in the interplay between horse and human, and how this enriches the lives of both.

My most humble gratitude goes out to all of the extraordinary teachers that fill such a life of adventure and learning. From the incredibly generous horses, who are always willing to play along, and allow curiosity to lead the way. To the decades of fine horsewomen and men, who lead by example, and keep the zest and wonder.

To a gifted, world class homeopath and teacher, Douglas Falkner, MD.. The Falkner School was a genuinely extraordinary scholarship, and through the years there I smiled broadly the entire time, because I couldn’t believe the magnitude of my good fortune. This learning expedition never ends, it just deepens over the years.

The story of a homeopath is that of an open mind, sensitivity, and searching. This singular exploit has gifted me beyond measure. The privilege of this method is to witness everyday miracles. To see a horse respond joyfully and playfully to a question, rather than with resentment and suspicion; to witness confidence instead of anxiousness; to watch an aging stallion in heart failure eat hay with his ears up in his last days, instead of mutely suffering.

 

These are the gifts that have been, and are bestowed upon me daily, by horses just like yours.
